Fertilizing regime for 1ft low tech shrimp tank

Flooding my planted tank soon.



Specs:
Tank:30cm x 17cm x 20cm (10L)
Soil: GEX Shrimp & plant (red)
Filter: Eden 501 w/ Seachem Matrix
Flora: (1) Monte Carlo
(2) Limnophila 'mini'
Fauna: Cherry Red Shrimps (planned)
Lighting: 3.5W LED for 6 hours (planned)
CO2: None
Temperature: Approx. 25 (Office environment)

I have read some of the forum posts. Some nano tanks can survive without much ferts. Some recommend Borneowild Lush w/ or w/o Seachem Excel.

I'm wondering what are some of your fert regimes (that works) for a similar set up?

There'll be some nutrients initially released by the soil substrate, other than that since you don't have Co2 injection, plant growth and nutrient take up rate wouldn't be so high, so you can just look at dosing a good all-in-one fertilizer solution.

Some people don't dose any fertilizers and just rely on the livestock to generate the nutrients, that can work too. Its a matter of trial and error.

If you are feeding the shrimps regularly, that can usually generate sufficient macro nutrients, then just dose micro nutrients to support the plant growth, can use Seachem Comprehensive, or BorneoWild Lush as you mentioned. You can also look at Tropica Premium too. The tank volume is small so the dosing amounts are very little, therefore any fertilizer solution you get will last a very long time.
