My bad, I found some reviews on the lights in the forum.
Hi
I am a converted hobbyist from Marine over to Planted. In the reef arena, Maxspect Razor is a pretty decent lighting for reef. I was wondering if the 8000K model is good for planted. I tried searching the forums but has yet to find relevant posts.
I also understand that for optimal plant growth, 6000K is more desired.
Lastly, I am also seeking recommendations for other LED plant lighting. I am setting up a 2 feet tank requiring high lighting.
My bad, I found some reviews on the lights in the forum.
Hi, able to share the reviews? Am looking at LED lighting that can penetrate a height of 60cm.

I realized that some of the users were having algae problem when they set to high intensity on the razor, even when set at 50%.
I had the intention of getting 2 sets because I was previously using 2 sets of Razor (16000K) for my marine tank. Even with the 2 I feel that the intensity was not high enough.
I am doing great with my Maxspect now. I am running at max 55%. Any higher, my algae issues would return.

Occasionally, I would have some trimmings to give away in exchange for a can of Milk Coffee. PM me to deal.
Thanks for your feedback. I am looking forward to getting them. May I know how high are you placing the lights? As I hate ceiling fittings, I will be using stands.
I am using the supplied stands but I am waiting for my light stand to arrive.

Nope. Mine is not custom-made. Just waiting for my favourite LFS to bring it in.

the default light stand is not good enough?
It actually is.
But my woodscape exceeds the top of my tank pretty high, I need my light to be positioned higher to illuminate the whole thing and since my current lighting setting is rather toned-down, I should not have any issue with lighting issues with my raised light.

You have a very nice tank.
I am also thinking of setting up a scape which the wood will extend out of the water.
Can share your stand lobang?
I will PM you once I got the stand and when I am satisfied with it. I would not recommend any product that is not up to my standards.

Aquatic avenue and east ocean brings in steel stands which can be hung on the tank rims. I got mine from east ocean and it is a stainless steel one. My only complaint is that fixing it up was difficult. But it works fine. It is the ANS brand one. Maxspect lights don't cover wide enough. Raising it higher helps the coverage. Alternatively you can purchase the lens extender/diffuser. I use mine at 70%/60%. Thinking of raising it to 80/70

Been considering maxspect for quite sometime. Anyone have any idea how much it costs for a 3ft tank?
