Very nice. Are the parents wild-caught specimens? I have some other species of betta for exchange if you want. I've been looking for miniopinna for a long time.![]()

Currently keeping large predatory fish 🐟
Hi Shixuan
Parents pair are from joty . will concentrate more on the rare one.Too many fishs not enough tanks.
From this to single 5 tier rack.![]()
woo...that is a lot of tank!!!
Hi Zerofighter101,
Most of them are coccina complex species.change water about 30% every 2/3 weeks.
Hi Shixuan,
From 2 racks . Now ONLY a 4" rack but 5 tier [able to stand 680kg]![]()
That is a good rack. Consolidating all the tanks on one rack makes maintenance and observation easier.
How many miniopinna are you rearing now? I find that once these betta spawn once, there is a high chance they would do it again. Problem is, older fry of certain species tend to predate on their younger sibling, as I've noticed in hendra. Only uberis haven't been witnessed to do so. I'm not sure about persephone or miniopinna but I read from a book that they live more harmoniously.

HI ShiXuan,
i have 2 pairs from joty, 1st pair have 2 batch of fry. 2nd pair 1 batch of 5/6 fry. about 20+ miniopinna fries.
rack is for easy maintenance and cosmetics look as the rack is in the hall. one of my persephone pair ate all the fry . persephone as compare with other coccina complex is more mild manner. worst is the coccina jambi always fight to the dead. I use to have 30+ coccina jambi, now left only 8.
Below pic are coccina jambi.
Inside got 11 or more.hahaha near the leaf got one
wild bettas,Shellies,herptiles,mudskippers,shrimps
Haha Ken ,that is the old pic.
Messy tank but the fish seems to like it. B.coccina are the worst lot of the complex. Only have a reverse trio now. Not my favorite to say. I prefer the unique coccina complex like the uberis, persephone and hendra.
I also bought fish from Joty, they are a pair of rubra but to be honest, the male looks like dennisyongi at times. I'm waiting for the fry to grow up and once the males have the pattern, it'll be easier to tell.
Have you managed to breed the hendra? I think they are really beautiful fish.
