Hi guys, i am keeping crayfish for a year or more and this is the first time i encounter it being pregnant. However, i read online and found some of the facts very contradictinng, some says that orange eggs are dead eggs, while other source says that the egg will be fertilized in the mother and when it is ready, the mum will transfer the egg to the swimmerets. My Blue crayfish is having orange eggs. I've attached a photo for your reference, hoping that some experienced crayfish keeper will advise me. Thanks alot
Congrats on breeding a crayfish, the answers online are mixed because different crayfish have different characteristics when it comes to eggs. In my experience, the eggs will change colors depending on their stage of development, and the mother carries it for close to a month. After that you should start seeing eyes on the eggs and then miniature crayfishes. I wish i could tell you more about the egg color for this species but I don't remember.
