Yes. There are light sets with a 'moon-light' feature. You can look out for those.
ADA is launching a new light set with those features but I am not sure if it will fit your budget.
Hi, I decided to start a 2ft planted tank for my kids' room. So besides the usual lighting for plant growth, I want to get another light, preferably in purple-ish color, to be turned on through the night as a night light for my kids.
Is there any ready-made solution? or anywhere sells purple tubes I can swap with those aquarium light sold at lfs?

or maybe using this

Occasionally, I would have some trimmings to give away in exchange for a can of Milk Coffee. PM me to deal.
Thanks mUAr_cHEe. So they are called 'moon-light'. I dropped by a few LFS but seems like only pink and blue colors are available... no purple![]()
I guess I'll have to make do with blue. Found this online which have a duo switch for daylight and actinic LED. I may go with this
Yup. That's the closest you can get.

Hi chong99, I've actually read your diy project a few days ago. It's really impressive. I think you're right... playing with color combination, or even buying the desired LED colors from the wide range that are available, can achieve what I want. I really enjoy diy and have done some simple stuff for my shrimp tank a long long time ago, but now with a toddler and an infant in the household, time is not really a luxury I have.
But thanks for your suggestion... and pls keep sharing your diy ideas
Hi bro, thanks for reading the diy posts.
But personally i think may not suitable to put aquarium or planted tank in infant room... and night light good to use warm light...
move the set up to living room
Cheers
What you can do is go simlim tower to get a strip of LED in whatever color and ask the shop to solder for you and get a power adapter too. $20plus last time I bought.
You can then stick the strip under your existing light using double sided tape.
just my personal thinking... aquarium will increase humidity in a room and might invite unwanted grow of fungi/bacteria if no proper care... plus the maintenance, water change, water splash, wires, bottles will give problems in long run.
so i think living room will be better place for an aquarium compare to a infant room.
warm light i mean is the warm yellow light, i'm not sure purple/blue/red light suitable for infant/young children??
I see where you're coming from... that's actually one of the reasons why I'm planning a simple "low tech" tank using HOF with less hoses/clutter. It must also be easy for maintenance/water change to ensure minimal water splashes.
In any case, the infant will only join the toddler in this room at a later stage.
I read from somewhere that purple color is supposed to help a person sleep/rest betterwarm light i mean is the warm yellow light, i'm not sure purple/blue/red light suitable for infant/young children??![]()

Not to be a wet blanket, but I attended some Feng Shui class when I was still in the Army. The master says bedroom is a place where there should not be things with too much movements so that the sleep will not get disrupted. I don't think it is a good idea to keep fishes in the bedroom.
The marine lights (specifically the AI brand) has a full spectrum LEDs where you can adjust the colour to purple. But the lights are considerably more expensive than the fresh water counterpart.
