Different Co2 bps count at diffuser and counter

Hi

I was tidying my cabinet yesterday and realized that bubble count is different at bubble counter and glass diffuser. At counter co2 bps is at 2 and bubble escaping into the diffuser chamber is only at about 1 bps.

There is no leak in the connection, tested with soap water. Where should I determine bubble count when count at the 2 locations are different? Is this normal.

It is normal. It is depend on the size of the bubble that the bubble counter produce. The bubble produced is depend on the size of the bubble counter tube. That is why bps is not the good way to determine the CO2 in the tank. It is just a gauge whether when you turn the knob you really increase or decrease.

So the best is still drop checker, pearling, livestock and plant growth.

Drop checker and live stock are the best. Plant growth you need to have experience to notice any slight growth differences. Pearling not a good indication since there are many other factor effecting pearling.
