hi, you can go damai plastic at ubi.
They can cut to the required size you need.
I bought several acrylic sheets, thinking of making aquarium covers, but the dimensions of the plastic sheets don't match the tanks. There's usually some excess, and cutting at home with a penknife is too time-consuming.
It would be so much easier if I could pop by a workshop to use the scroll saw. Or are there any LFS or hardware stores that readily assist in cutting acrylic sheets according to specific dimensions?

there is also a acrylic cutter which you can buy and use, I got mine from Bras Brasah....
Yeah, just get those acrylic cutters (they look like pen knives with hook shape). Can get from most art shops or hardware shops, i've even seen them stocked at Daiso too.
The method is to line up the cut with a ruler, score the acrylic sheet with the cutter a few times to make a groove line, then snap it across the side of a table.
Here is a helpful how-to video by Uaru Joey for reference:
Bro,which part of Tampines are you located at?
I can give you a couple of hardware shop that sell it.
Ooh thanks for the advice! Looks like this is just what I need. Just popped by the Daiso at Vivocity but it looks like it doesn't stock this acrylic cutter.

Ha, that's true. I live along the stretch between Tampines Junior College and Tampines North Community Club, so Tampines Mart would be the best option for me, although I don't mind cycling to St 11 to check it out as well. Thanks for the info!

You can buy those plastic multi purpose mesh in diy stores. I bought mine and cut it according to my tank measurements and it just fits nicely. Best thing you can bend it to remove it when cleaning as the light stand, cooler fan will block it from removing the mesh
My acrylic sheets warped due to heat from lights, maybe they are too thin.... and also, I could not find 30 cm long sheets, so had to use two pieces to cover a 60x30 cm tank.... this afternoon I went to Chinatown frame maker and had him cut a piece of 59x29 cm piece of 5mm glass, with 4 cm cut off from one corner for piping in/out. Cost was $20....... if hand cut can get immediately, if you want machine cut where the edges will be smooth and can cut square corner, then have to wait a few days.... there is only 1 frame maker in Chinatown, along North Bridge Rd...
