little amounts of water , need to change every day
okay , i added roughly 2 bottle caps of water from my aged tank. Thanks for the advice !
For tubi you need to keep changing fresh water to maintain them and make sure there are no dead tubi(black/grey color). Always keep the culture reddish.
Keep running water over them. I had great success with them in a HOB filter attached to my tank.
Cheers,
JJ
On the 3rd day , i find all of them kinda less active then they were. Do you have a tank only to keep the tubiflex worms or ? and i suppose you fully soak the worms in water ? Do you feed them with potatoes or the indian leaves?
No feeding needed, jus change water everyday, sometimes twice a day. Keep them in a deep tray nd fill water to abt 1cm or slighly more jus enough to ensure most tubi are submerged. Whenever they seem slow moving or change to a darker color, jus do a water change and flush out any dead ones which are usually white, and u will be left with healthy ones again. By following this method im able to last my tubi a week before i finish feeding them out![]()
Oooo okay , i've heard of concerns like feeding unfresh tubiflex might cause some internal parasite issues to the fishes... so i only feed my other fishes (that eats fish feeds) tubiflex worms for the first 2 days. The main reason why i want to keep them as long as possible is because of my pufferfish. Tried feeding them brine shrimps but they dont seem to eat them.
Hi all, i notice that for most batch of tubiflex worms, there seems to be some of them in slightly whiter condition compared to the others in the container. (more pale compared to the others). Does anybody know if those are dead or unhealthy worms ?
I usually try to wash those white worms away as much as I can

I used to work in a fish shop very long ago. You have to bath them few time in a day (put in a container and swirl them with water. wait for maybe 10seconds for the alive one to clump together and slowly pour away the floating or dead ones). Place them on tray with bit of water so that they are not dry up. (i do not submerge them because they need air to breathe. Imagine them as human. If its a hot day, they sweat alot. So you have to bath them more.

Occasionally, I would have some trimmings to give away in exchange for a can of Milk Coffee. PM me to deal.
Unless it is really cold water. I remembered keeping them in the fridge over night everytime.
Thanks for the advise ! Do you use water from aged tanks or just tap water or anti-chlorine water?
I've been using the fully submerged method for a while and they smell quite badly over-night... will try to pour out as many water as possible from now.
It's quite amusing to see them waving in the water after i changed the water actually....
Edit : Also , how do you differentiate if they are dead or not ? i usually change and rinse them about 5-6 times during the day. I use your method of allowing them to settle down and pour those that are floating after 10 seconds.
I also notice that they seems to be "laying down" 3-4hours after i changed the water and gets active immediately when i change water.
