jus some info, the A. gibbiceps and the A.uaupesi aka A. sp 'rotkeil' is collected at the same area along the rio negro river.. the A. gibbiceps can be found along the drainage of the central Rio Negro area, near the infow of the Rio Uaupes (which is the origin of the rotkeil)

many thks to Candidi for his valuable input in IDing the apisto

Honestly I do not find the aqualog book useful, it is all picture and no text. I would instead recommend SOUTH AMERICAN DWARF CICHLIDS by Hans J. Mayland & Dieter Bork.
About a month ago I find a small Apisto gibbiceps at C328 LFS, I think it got there by accident, got mixed up with other fishes. Anyway it is a good buy.

For looking at pictures the aqualog book 2 is good i've the book you mention title south america dwaft cichlids it's a black cover book with an A.cockatoo on the front cover.

It's also consider the aqualog 1st SA Dwaft book. It's content are really solid.

well.. good news and bad news here.
good news is i got the "South American Dwarf Cichlids" book from Petmart at a very good 2 digit price. Although it is not a new copy, it is still in good condition.
bad news is that's the last copy.

i didn't get it at 70+ i got it from H20 at 90+ which i had a difficult time bargaining...

I suggest you asking Petmart to bring in rather then paying 90+ for tht book.
    Cheers!
