got this from Gan a few weeks ago. (he caught it for me) thot it might be a A. Rotkeil female but have some doubts cos it looked a bit different from another female A. Rotkeil that A.Moae chose for me.

ok will try to... seems like she has formed a territory among the dwarf sag... hard to catch her outside.. she's not letting the male rotkeil in... dunno what's she's up to.

After lights are off, slowly go towards your tank with a torch and look at the female like spying on them, maybe you have a better chance of looking at your apisto that way.
    Cheers!

That is not a female apisto. Its real name is Apistogramma Gibbiceps and it is a male fish. I have one in my apisto tank at this present moment.

u mean the A. cf. gibbiceps 'yellow'? very possible, similar face markings

A better identification features are those vertical black bars around the stomach area. That is still a young fish, the dorsal and tail fins shows that. An adult Apistogramma Gibbiceps is a real gem.

yah i guess so... but i sucks at identifying fish (seriously.. i never thought that fish is a male b4.. he was yellow and all.... thot 'she' was in breeding colours) and even if i can i think i don't have the patience to catch it out of the tank! heh... maybe i should get one of those apisto books first.
