For these kinds of leak issues, since you only recently bought the equipment, just bring it back to the shop with receipt and get it fixed or replaced.
You might also consider topping up more and getting an Eheim canister filter instead.
Just bought it like 2 weeks ago.
Initially thought maybe my filter media choked. Open up and saw that the fine filter wool all turned black (last chamber). Changed it to a new one and hook it up again. I was checking it every now and then and find no leaks for the next like 3-4hrs. But when i woke up this morning, the plastic box i placed my filter in was filled with water![]()
There is no rubber ring near the cover for insulation though.
The leak comes from one/two of the hook side (or wat u called the 4 part that secures the pumphead).
So can i bring it back to Y618 for servicing or wat options do i have?
Was going to my final phase of water check before introducing livestock.... now gotta postpone again. T-T

I didnt have the receipt, they didn't give me. But the box got their shop sticker.
I dun mins topping up for a eheim 2213 or 2215.
Hopefully the shop uncle/auntie recognize you, anyways the filter looks new and has their price tag so they should have some sort of short term warranty and support.
Talked to the female boss (i think). She tell me to bring it back and they will send it to the supplier. Approx 2weeks..
In the end i decided to forget about the atman...... i need a filter in the meantime anyway. Even after getting it back from servicing, i cant sell it for much - bought at 78 only.
Probably going to Greenchapter to get a 2215. Is it enuf if i upgrade to a 3ft tank in the future?
The 2215 model is good for 3ft tank too, the filter media volume is larger... flow rate of 620 l/ph is sufficient, though some people may prefer higher flow rates to improve circulation in 3ft planted tanks.
You could also consider 2nd hand ones too, seems there are a few good deals on them at the forum marketplace at the moment.
Ya, i saw one guy selling near yishun LOL. I pmed him yesterday but no reply, guess its sold. Its a very good deal i think :P
why do you need to go green chapter??
y618 also have eheim.
They keep them inside, you need to ask for it.
Aquarium is Science!!
Thats cos i also need to go FreshnMarine to get the API master test kit. Y618 dun have. Shunbian go GC poison myself LOL
I was assuming you did not want to go back to Y618 because of the -ve experience over the ATMAN filter. I personally would not want to go back ever if I were in your shoes. A 2week wait for a new product is unacceptable. Would have expected a 1:1
Basically no hard feelings over this given that the product starts to leak almost 1.5weeks after purchase. Then i use the half week to try and ascertain the issue - whether its clogged/physical crack/etc. Replace new media as well as inspect the product for cracks/holes and couldnt find any. Somehow it leaks even when i power off the filter, cant figure out the cause. Just keep it as a spare (just need to pour away the leakage everyday - and top up the tank also).
I will still go Y618 for smaller stuffs/filter media/fish/plants/etc. Its nearer for me, and i do not want any fishes i purchase to tahan the longer journey if i go elsewhere. For the lemon, i guess its just not my day.![]()
Yes, its just opposite GC.
Yeah, there is always a chance to get a lemon unit with issues... even eheim filter buyers will also occasionally encounter such units too, it just depends on luck.
I guess the difference between brands is distributor warranty/support which affects the replacement time, 2 weeks is way too long to get something replaced or repaired, nowadays it has to be 1-to-1 exchange by distributor or else it becomes too inconvenient.
Though i have bought 3rd-party filters from places like Seaview and they have an in-house 1 week warranty on all their equipment (they always test the equipment during checkout and then attach a warranty sticker on the power cord), and i've ever returned a faulty filter to them and got a 1-to-1 exchange on the spot. Perhaps the larger LFS stores who stock more inventory of the equipment are the ones which can offer this type of quick support.

Yep. Imagine if i got livestock in my tank. Think all going to uplorry.
Anyway no harm getting pissed or angry over such stuffs in my opinion. Life goes on. And there's much more things that will worry or agitate you also. Thats how i feel![]()
