    Hi all,

Pretty new to aquascaping and came back to planted tanks after a hiatus.
I just used some leftover stuffs of mine to start off an iwagumi on 10 Jan and here are some pictures to show.

Water parameters were measured every 2 days for ammonia and nitrite.
My ammonia was at an all time high on the 4th day at 5ppm.

70% water changes were done every 3 days.
Seachem Prime was used for water conditioning and Azoo Plus for Freshwater(Bacteria) was dosed every 2 days to speed up the cycle.

Although its not an impressive tank, I have to say I'm pretty pleased with the results.

    Tank equipment used: 45 x 20 x 23.5cm tank
    Green element EVO LED
    ISTA CO2 canister setup
    EDEN 501 canister filter
    GUSH drop checker
    GUSH nano CO2 diffuser

    Filter Media: BIOHOME 2
    AZOO 4 in 1

    Flora: Micranthemum 'Monte Carlo'
    Japanese Hair Grass

Fauna: Fire Red shrimps (Neocaridina Sp.)
    Yamato shrimps (Caridina Multidentata)
    Panda loach (Yaoshania Pachychilus)

    Day 1: 10/1/2015

    1 week later: 17/1/2015
Melting was observed and hair algae issues started occuring.

    Japanese hairgrass added: 18/1/2015

On 21/1/2015, Ammonia and nitrite was 0.
I added 10 Fire red shrimps in on 22/1/2015. (Drip acclimatized them for 2 hours before adding them into the tank)

Observed them for a week and all looked well. Therefore I added another 10 Fire reds shrimps and 3 panda loaches.

Here is the tank in its current day 1/2/2015
Plants have stopped melting and has begun to grow in nicely.

Now to wait for the plants to carpet nicely before I do any more updates.
