    Hi Guys,

Just wanted to share of a few pics, relating to my experience of keep discus.

So to kick things off, i here some a recent project that i have been working on at my lil man cave off Jln Kayu. A small space to indulge in my Xiao obsession for fishes

Had an empty 3ft tank (unused) that i decided to use for this scape, here are some pics of the initial setup - till its current state:

Added yellow sand for the main substrates

Added larger stones to act as the secondary base that was later filled with ADA amazonia

Added the plants and started fill up the tank - which cycled for about 1.5 weeks

After the cycling was completed, added in some initial fishes to test the overall parameters:

Once the water was stable - started added in a pair of Adult discus that i had:

    Nice setup!

Seems more and more people are renting spaces at fish farm lots, solves the limitations of keeping tanks at home... very tempting.

May I ask how will you be maintaining the PH of the water to be at the acidic side? Chemical? filter media?

Dont! Its a serious pain and i am constantly worried about my fishes (when i am not there). And going to those areas can also be another problem for most or at least for myself.

I would strongly recommend that if space permits - having your collection at your home is the best way to go! That is if your into live stock - if your really into planted only, maybe renting a space - might be fine.

PH down chemicals - i use Seachem ? Seeing that the direct water at the farm is high in PH (8.3-8.5), so all new water is stored and aged for a week with Seachem anti-chlorine & PH buffer added.

My current water PH in this tank is at 7
