How do we measure the CO2 ppm if ADA soil drives down the pH value to very low level (4-5.5)? The CO2 reading will not be accurate. So how do I go about to measure the exect CO2 reading?

Please do not borrow threads for topics that are different. (Yes, it's about ADA Aquasoil, but you're asking pH and CO2, while hpeter was asking about the differences between the different varieties.)

i also like to know. but so far havent found out clear answer.

one way is to go another way around, i.e., first measure the PH without any CO2 injected. then start injecting CO2 and use good CO2 testkit to monitor. once CO2 reaches 30ppm, check the PH again and record it. then you got the target PH value and also the PH value deviation.

but the problem is CO2 testkit may not be accurate enough. i have a bioplast co2 testkit but found it's quite difficult to use. also the CO2 testkit may be affected by the low PH as well.

The kH and pH goes off completely. No use trying to determine C02 levels here. That's the damn problem for my tank.

Basically, with ADA soil, cannot rely on ph & kh to determine CO2 liao ... not sure if there's any known way to calculate it

I don't calculate co2 in high tech, ada soil tank. I just inject as much as possible and watch out for the fishes reaction. However I still make sure that there is some kH and pH is not too low.
