coincidental , i happen to look into cree cxa headlight , it comes with 30 watt led , already built -in with heatsink and fan
Have anyone used these as replacement for planted aquarium light? Is it comparable to odyssea 3ft led? Price wise is half of odyssea

How much is that?
It's listed in aliexpress for about usd$90-100. Wondering if it works fine for planted tanks with carpets.

I use floodlight which is much cheaper
Spot light and your flood light is the same type right? Only the beam angle different?

Sure floodlight can be used? Hehehe...
1000% sure
This is the flood light that I used (20W) for 40x20x20cm tank. Beam angle if I remember correctly 120 degree.
This is the flood light that my friend used (30W each) for 90x45x45cm tank
This is the result of my tank using floodlight
So aquatic plants do not require any specific spectrum whatsoever?

Damn.... Should have bought floodlight instead of evo3w. Would have save a lot of money. Lol

Yes. Of course saving money.
Theoretically it does but practically does not make any different as long as it white light. On the fluorescent tube day, special plant light does not make plant grow faster compare to normal OSRAM. Nevertheless to make my self feel better , I measured the PAR and it is pretty good 66 umol at bottom surface. For refference, 50 umol is enough for any plants. The light is located 15cm above the water surface.
Floodlight look ugly though

Robert, the light is led floodlight? Pricewise is less than $30 right?
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.
yes LED flood light, It is less than US$20 (20W), I can't remember the exact price.
Shadow, since yours is 120* angle beam. Do you think it's going to be overkill if the angle is 8* spot beam or 60* flood beam? Wouldn't want to suntan all the plants
