I'm planning to upgrade my Aquazonic 22 LED(5.28W) light that comes with my OF nano tank (34L) (LxBxH: 310x310x360mm). I'm drawn to the following options:

    1. Beamswork Hi-Lumen 30: 0.5Wx24, 10000Kx24, Lumen: 1200
    2. Odyssea EVO12P: 18W(6x3W), 10000K and 6700K, Lumen: 810

Obviously option 2 cost more and generates more heat.

I have HC Cuba as my foreground plant and I plan to plant a Alternanthera Reineckii "mini" in the centre of my tank after the HC has established roots using DSM. I'm seeking advice and recommendations for the above 2 options. Is it true that higher wattage LED able to penetrate greater depth?

    TIA. :-)

Both lights could be used... but if you are looking for better depth penetration, go for the one with higher wattage individual LEDs (ie. 3W LED).

Though the trade-off with using lights that have less individual LEDs is that they will also tend to have more of a spot light effect. Just have to observe demo units at the LFS to see which you prefer.

I'm not so pro like shadow to do my own wiring, I also won't want to make a big mess and make everthing look silly.

I think the Beamswork Hi-Lumen should work well for carpeting plants? My tank is just 28cm high anyway.

I also using Beamwork 45cm version, no issue of growing plant. Sometime i think beamwork brighter that my another Up-Aqua P series LED.
