I'm actually thinking of jap hairgrass, any other interesting yet small plants to consider?

i have the crystal pod from gUSH, used to keep anubias with soil.... but somehow i find it troublesome when the fauna keep disturbing the soil which fell onto the sand/foreground which caused the mess

i feel like trying monte carlo but i don't have CO2 kit
