Hi, I have intention of using a pre-filter (canister type) for my Eheim 2260 external filter. Could anyone recommend the brand/model of pre-filter for me with price range would be good.

    Thank you.

There was a discussion on this not too long ago. Maybe you want to do a search there to see what was already discussed?

You can go for the eheim pre-filter canisters (basically a classic series filter without the motor), i think they are around $60-$80, depending on size.

Or you can look at other brands like the Sunsun, Jaqno or Shiruba pre-filters, they work well too, usually cost around $20-$40.

    Re: Pre-filter for canister filter

I would recommend eheim prefilters. They are much easier to change the media inside compared to the screw-on cap types like from jaqno AND you will have almost no chances of leakage since those eheim prefilters share the same design as their classic series filters, tested and proven for years not to leak. I used the APA brand one similar to the jaqno design and they are a pain to screw on and off without having any leaks and the hose connections are not very good, decommed it and bought the eheim instead haha.
