Looking for a set of LED lighting that don't cost a BOMB.

Currently using UP AQUA LED for my 2ft scape.

Which brand is value for money?

You probably need to ask yourself what kind of set up you want. If you intend to grow high light demanding plants, it will be a different situation altogether. The height of your tank matters too. Nevertheless, for a 2 feet standard tank and the common plants out there, i would recommend the green element evo 3 watts per bulb. I am current using beamswork and also the green element ones and i would certainly say that the green elements one are better.

From hindsight and experience, go for the most expensive one that you can afford at the beginning. Saves some time and money instead of always thinking of an upgrade. 2ft light set price ranges from 100+ to 500+ dollars.

    Zetlight/Maxspect - $500+
    Beamworks/GreenElement - $100+
    Chihiro/NANA - $200+

Ferts: Dry Mixture/Dr Mallicks. Temp: 26 degrees Substrate: ADA Amazonia

What is the dimension of your tank? If your tank height is 1.5f, I would suggest to add another UP Aqua led, the high power one, is it z or u series?

isn't aquazonic from qianhu? their QC sometimes cmi leh.

i'm on a normal 2ft tank. looking to set up another scape in the future. so looking for a good brand with high power and color spectrum.

Yeah i think should just get a better light rather than just keep upgrading but maxspect is way to expensive to sink on a 2 ft tank.

Even with a maxspect, it would be overkill for your 2ft.

Re: LED Light recommendation that don't cost a BOMB

Light choice really depends on the type of plants and the type of tank setup you are going for... you have to indicate those factors before suitable lights can be recommended.

If its a high tech tank with high density of fast growing plants, along with lots of Co2 injection and lots of fertilzer dosing, then its worth getting stronger lights to boost plant growth... but if its a low-tech tank with no Co2 injection and containing mostly slower growing plants, then no point getting high end powerful lights, they'll just grow lots of algae instead.

Btw, "doesn't cost a bomb" and "value for money" is very subjective. Some people find that MaxSpect Razor is value for money since it packs in so many features, they may have deep pockets so it doesn't cost a bomb to them... while others find that ordering the cheaper LED floodlights or DIY LED lights from online shops is more value for money and effective enough for their setups. So it all depends on your budget.
