Riccia dark green in colour ??

Hi,

my 2ft tank base of riccia has been 2-3wks liao. I notice tat some of them r not tat bright green compare to others. But they r not dead as they r still bubbling. They r in dark green in colour. I dun have any other plant blocking them fr light. Are they sort of some nutrients ? Anione encounter them b4 ? Thankz

Co2- 3bps
Light- 2x36watts ( 6hrs per day )
Dose Profito everyweek during water change

darker ones cld be wat we called as "sinking riccia", but it cld be a deficiency prob. From your specs, u shldnt have a lighting prob.. so, cld be sinking riccia

do u kno why it will change into the sinking form? shldn't be due to water conditions as i see fr the pics both forms growing together.....

Hi PEPSI,

Do have any things like floating plants that are obstructing the light to the riccia or you have ketapang leaves inside your tank to make the water blackish? Just a thought.

I started off with the floating Riccia. Not sure why subsequently a little bit of them converted to sinking form. Till today there's still both forms stuck in my tank.

interesting.... hmmm.... PEPSI yet to let me kno whether the ones he mentioned were from me... but I was pretty sure that they were all bright green floating riccia when I was harvesting for him....

Sorry for the late reply. Ya it is the batch tat u sold to mi. I m also sure tat u r selling mi the bright green type. But till now i still dunno y they turn dark green. Abt half of it turn dark green. It is a purely 2ft riccia tank with no other plant at all. So light blocking is not the problem.

u said tt half turn dark green but r still bubbling.... so means they r still growing... give them some more time and hope they will change lor....

if I didnt remember wrongly, those 'sinking riccia' doesnt bubble.. which may means, your's isnt

OOO is that true ? Happi to hear tat. But mine is dark green leh like plastic like tat but they still bubble leh. Hope they will turn back to a lush bright green !!
