To me no issue. I'm also planning. My 2213 with hailea 100A . Canister floor tank is 110cm...water still flow quite strong but not strong enff for my liking.
Hi,
I'm planning for a 2ft tank for my home (60 x 30 x 45). This time, I'm intending to setup a chiller (Hailea 150A) for shrimps.
Since it's my first time, I just want to be sure I get it right.
(1) Hailea - 1/10 hp - pump water flow of 400l - 1500l /h with external temperature probe. (bought)
I am looking for an appropriate external canister filter to go with this. (Eheim 2215 vs Sicce Whale 200).
I'm leaning towards Whale 200 as:
- lower power consumption
- slightly higher flow rate (700l/h)
- easy disconnect
- smaller foot & volume print
- cheaper
- 5 years on site warranty.
My concern is that it's head max is 1.4m (2215 is 1.8m). I've measure my tank reaches 1.15m from floor. Technically Whale 200 should suffice. But considering that there is bound to be power & pressure loss due to the addition of chiller, I'm wondering if it is "underpowered".
Should I be concerned?

Hmm.. My floor tank also 110cm and i am Hailea 100, hmm my Eheim Ecco pro 2 = 600l/h flow rate, i also feel not so strong. Maybe i connect to co2 reactor, chiller. Make it even slower. I think best is to get those 1000l/h above flow rate
I have 2 tanks. One using Sicce Whale 200 ; the other Eheim 350 (2215), both connected to Hailea 28A (2 sets). Both working fine but subconsciously I think I prefer Eheim. While the advertised flow rate is slower for Eheim, I seems to feel it is stronger. But this could also be because I remove the black & white filter pad in Eheim & fill in more media... maybe this cause better flow rate.
