Maybe filter u can choose ehiem 2213...
i currently using this set h28a and ehiem 2213
Hi all, due to high evaporation rate and unstable temp. I wana get a chiller n better filter. Currently on HOF.
Am new to setting up a chiller... Current tank is the GEX 600 Slim (60x20x25cm) aprrox 30L.
Need advices on chiller n filter combo.. Am looking at either Hailea HC100A (Flow Rate 200-1000L/H) or Hailea HS28A (Flow Rate 250-1200L/H) to pair with EHEIM Aqua Compact 40 (350L/H).
Can kindly advice if it is ok for this setup with decent out flow thru the rain bar...
I'm open to other better suggestions. As I wana do it right the 1st time as the cost is not cheap..
Thanks all..
Maybe filter u can choose ehiem 2213...

If you plan to upgrade later on will be good to go for slight over size. Hs28 can power 2x2ft tank with coil. As for filter 2213 or Ecco pro 200/300 will do the job well.
noobie questions...
ehiem 2213 comes with rainbar n medias?
Rain bar only cost few dollar (non-eheim type) for media wise you can check out on filter box. Someone selling used 2213 on marketplace.
I got 2213 from Seaview. It comes with everything to start. Including media and rain bar. But I suggest u get a lily outlet. Get double taps too. If you have more budget get the echo 200. Then you won't need the taps.
Your choice of canister is not enough after going thru the chiller. Between the 2 chiller the 100a will have some humming...if inside your bed room I suggest you take the bigger 28A. Scared the canister make your tank become washing machine use taps to control. I was using same tank before....2213 is ok. Once media gets dirty...flow will be just right.
Also to not there are shop selling 2213 w/o media...almost genna before as I didn't check when I just started off.
Finally got myself a 60cmX30cmX36cm (abt 65L) tank.. Regarding abt canister filter, Is Ehiem Ecco pro 200 (600L/Hr) enuff to pair with Hailea HS-28A... Need some advice before I purchase e filer.. Thks for all yr kind advices...
Ecco Pro 200 is more than enough to power the HS28a
2213 is a bit weak thou for my 60x30x40. Maybe I KS I pack a bit more media but still kind off lacking.
Cos when I disturb my gravel , I see the dirty stuff like not circulating towards the inlet and settle back down.
Ya my 2213 for 2ft tank thru a 100A Haile chiller not enough power. Water moves but I prefer more violent. Previously 2213 in 2ft Low profile tank without chiller a tab too power.
Try not to stuff too much media into your canister filter. Impeding the flow over time as it clogs up is not something you want.
2213 is sufficient for your HS28A but a slightly larger filter like the 2215 may be more applicable if you are intending to run the output of the chiller through a cooling tube. This is dependent on your personal opinion in the end. If you opt for a rainbar the 2213 should be sufficient without turning your tank into a washing machine. The use of a lily tube would be more aesthetic and less noisy IMO. In case the flow is insufficient in some spots the use of airstones with a weaker flow and/or a weak powerhead filter will help too. Your aim should be good water flow throughout the tank but not too much.
Note: Try to cut down on the SMS lingo, I understand it is a lot easier to use short form, but rules are rules. Thanks.![]()
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
Thank you all for inputs and advices..
Hello all,
Just setup a 2feet tank with Ehiem Ecco pro 200 and Hailea HS-28A chiller, on the process of cycling. Did a 40% water change on Day 3.
Tested the water parameter with API Freshwater kit on Day 4.
Stuffs in the tank. 3 Nana, 2 Lava Rock, Driftwood with moss, 7 Frogbits , Amazon soil with Mosura Old Sea Mud, Borneowild Mineral Balls.
Is the water parameter ok? Is there anything I need to take note. Planning to cycle the tank for 2months before getting shrimps
I have yet to get test kit for GH, KH and TDS. Would like to know the average parameters for GH,KH and TDS.
PH : 6.4
Ammonia (NH3/NH4+) : 0ppm
Nitrite (NO2-) : 0.25ppm
Nitrate (NO3-) : 10ppm
Thank you all for your precious feedbacks

There is no need to run chiller during cycling
The chiller is not running..
Dont change any water yet. Wait for the ammonia to spike first.
The rest like GH and TDS can wait first until your ammonia and NO2/NO3 readings are stable.
