    Hi All

Whenever I do a weekly water change, I switched off my 2 internal canister filters first.
After finished everything and I switched them on again, they simply don't have bubbles coming out from the outflow anymore. Water still flowing out cos' can see the fishes swimming against the water current... but NO BUBBLES!!!!!

I have to switch off, take the canister filters out shake here shake there... reconnect the air-tube that controls the outfllow then slowly submerged them back into the tank. If lucky can work, if not have to retry many many times.
$35 Eheim Aquaball 2206 like this.... cheapo $15 internal filter also like this!!!!!

Any advice for me??? Would my 20-odd small fishes in the 2ft tank die without the bubbles??

Thanks in advance for any advice!!!

If there is enough surface movement, nothing is wrong!! Oxygen will still be able to enter the water!! I won't worry unless your fishes start gasping at the surface!!

    Controls the outflow?

Anyway, coluld be due to water inside the air tubes. Try this next time. Instead of taking them out and doing the cha cha with them, just blow into the tubes after turning the filters on. It should clear the tube and start the air flowing.

If hygiene is a concern, don't touch your lips to the tube, just blow strongly into the tubes.

Went home and straight away gave my venturi a good "blowjob"
Only a slight improvement...... outflow now like farting a bit of bubbles every 2 seconds interval.......

How long are the air tubes? If they are the original length, it's should be ok. If the tubes are too long, they won't work properly.

Try adjusting the height too. Put the filters closer to the water surface.

There must be a good water flow rate. Test it by running the pumps without the filter media or the media compartments. If it works, it could mean that your media is either clogged or you have stuff too much media into the compartments. Also could mean the the pump head has not been cleaned properly.

Also make sure that the part that the air tube is connected to is not clogged.

By the way, this whole mechanism is called a venturi.
