Any experience on Magnum 250/350 vs Vortex Diatom filter ?

Hi,

Would like to find out from the forumers here that how many of you are using Magnum 250/350 or Vortex diatom filter for planted tank ? Any reason why you are using it ? How often do you run it ?

If you have used both filter , hope to hear your personal experience on these filters ?

run it before phototaking.
run it when disease outbreak.
run it when there's green water (not that I ever got it).
run it when I feel like looking at crystal clear water.
