    Currently still waiting for my 0.5ppm ammonia/ammonium test
    but now I've a bloom of brown algae which is on all 4 sides of the surface. . .

    Will it affect my sacrificial tetras?

    I also faced this. According to what I've gathered here. Is this is normal especially for new setups. And algea is also a sign that the aquarium is heading in the right direction. Brown is us ally caused by silicate compounds especially when we use sand.
    Scrub off access and get otto and yamato. After a while they will also go alway or left very little.

    Tetra not so hardy. .if they die also not due to the brown algae.
