How to check bubble counter?

Just bought a bubble counter for my diy nutrafin co2. Co2 refuses to move down the tubing halfway down the flipper. So I removed the bubble counter and connect directly to bottle and it works now.

The bubble counter and the tubing for it are new, anyway got any suggestions to check the bubble counter for leaks?

shldn't give u any problems, maybe having pass thru a bubble counter adds to the pressure, so it will take a while longer than without the counter

What I noticed was, everytime a bubble comes out of the bubble counter, the water level in the tubing gets pushed down a bit and bounced back up.

Is that a symptom of pressure still being built up? Or is that a symptom of leakage?

do you have a check valve?

No i don't. Just the following:

nutrafin bottle -> new and about 12cm tubing -> bubble counter -> nutrafin tubing -> tank

Currently has the following and works:

nutrafin bottle -> nutrafin tubing -> tank

IMO, you do not need a bubble counter with a flipper. You can already count the bubble at the flipper. Having extra bubble counter will only add to the resistance and additional joints where possible leaks may occur.

The reason I want to use one is so that white slimy stuffs do not form on the mouth of the tubing at the tank-end.

According to a post I read somewhere, a bubble counter is supposed to prevent that.

I believe a bubble counter will also prevent backflow right?

Put the above section in a pail of water to test for leakage. Blow through the tubing while covering the outlet end of the bubble counter.

Ahh...so if I see bubbles that means there's a leak?

I blew through the bubble counter in water and noticed bubbles coming out from beneath the cap. But strange thing is, after further blowing to determine leak spot, the bubbling stopped. I blew so hard that my eyes gonna pop, but no bubbles. So I connected the bubble counter, and there are bubbles in my tank within less than a minute! So weird!
