    Hi,
I brought a 3ft JEBO light fitting which comes with 2 x 18W 2ft-tube and believe the lighting is not enough for my 3ft x 1.25 ft (H) x 1.25 (W) tank (Planning to grow Riccia.. the light hungry plant)

The question is, can I convert this JEBO light so that it can be used 2 x 36W tube?

    Any advise?

    patience is a virtue.

i presume that your light uses fl tubes. what are the internal dimensions where the light tube sits? and to fit in 2 x 36w, you'll probably need pl tubes. and the ballast has to be replaced as well.

You're right, it is a FL tube

The internal light area is approx. 2ft x 4", don't know can fix it 2 x 36W PL tube?

nope. 36w pl tubes are about 18" long and about 1.5"-2" wide.
you'll need to get an additional light set. or you can diy.

    Thanks again!

    Thinking to buy another casing for 2 x 36 watt PL light, so together I will have (2 x 18W + 2 x 36W = 108Watts of lighting). Hope this is not overkill for my 3ft x 15" x 15" tank? Planned to grow Riccia & Glosso..

Any recommendation where to buy 2 x 36W PL with casing and rougly how much?

Brought the 2 x 36Watt PL from NA. Solved the problem.

Now, I've total of 108 Watt lighting (2 x 18W FL + 2 x 36W PL). Should be no problem to combine FL & PL, no ill effect right? I have about 29 gallon tank the WPG is 3.7. On paper, I can grow anything on this tank.....

Can see the buddles forming under Riccia and others plants....VERY nice and what a satisfaction! :P

I don't understand why the 3ft light uses 2ft tube?

I'm stuck with the same problem ... thinking of changing to a hood instead.

I'm exploring to DIY the light to

    1. change into eballast and overdrive the FL which will be able to give me about 60W currently 2 x 20WFL tubes

    2. change into 1 x 55W and 1 x 18W PL

    3. change into hood and do up with PL lights

Can kindly give me more ideas

    I have the same problem.
Instead of trying to modified to have more Watts. I just brought another light casing that housed with 2 x 36W PL lamp. I paid $89 for the whole thing and why bother to DIY and the trouble of running around?

2 ft tubes are easier to find and are generally cheaper.

doubt you can really overdrive fl tubes.
the simplest way to add more light; add additional light set.
else diy the present light set. you'll just have to make sure that the higher power tubes can fit in.
