    Hi guys,
I saw this device at Nanyang Trading Aquarium Pte Ltd. Is this for hatching brine shrimps? How does it work?

There are no instructions in English on the package.

    Cheers.

Never used this type, but I heard about such innovative device: the eggs and salt water are cherged into the device, and then it should be submersed to the tank with the fry. There is an "exit passage" from the device, and the "focus" is that salted water inside device and freshwater in your tank do not mix inside that passage, there is a kind of border line, but nauplias attracted by the light cross that border easily and get into the tank. Very interesting and worth trying, considering a quite affordable price.

    Hi,
It kind of you to offer the diy kit.:-)
My tank is now recovering slowly from nutrition and algae issues. So I'll just kiv this brine shrimp feeding. The main reason I posted this post was due to hatching kit. I've never seen it in local LFS.
I guess feeding brine shrimps is good for baby fries and not a necessity for adult fish. Also saw prepacked brine shrimp in a bottle by Ocean Nutrition at Aquatic Aven and Fishy Biz and it only $12+ per bottle.
Anyway I found this video which show how this kit works.

I don't think it can. You still use salty water but it's in a separate chamber, the one where the bubble comes out into the device. But I'm sure a little bit of the salty solution will leech out into the fresh water [remember chemistry class ;-)]

This would be a good device to try out... maybe you can just buy a set and see how it works.

I'm also wondering how it manages to ensure that the saltwater doesn't mix with the freshwater, very interesting design.
