I have just setup the external co2 ceramic reactor I have noticed that the bubble size which comes out from my outflow lily pipe appears to be big and not those fine bubbles is this normal ? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1431068085.452083.jpg

Anyone using the same reactor can provide me with some feedback ?

Are you using this version that is designed for 16/22 hose fittings?

    Photo from Google Images.

The bubbles do look abit large (compared to what i've seen from a unit in use before)... though the ceramic material in this reactor system doesn't seem as fine as the ones in the Up Aqua atomizer system, so the bubbles wouldn't be as small (not the misty type).

Maybe check the seals around the ceramic portion and see if there are any larger bubbles leaking out, these issues tend to be quite common in inline diffusers which use ceramic tubes.

Yes im using the exact same design for 16/22 hose fittings . I will take it apart and check the seal around the ceramic diffuser for any leaks .

I dismantled the reactor and ensured that the ceramic portion is properly sealed no leaks , I'm still getting bubbles coming out of the lily pipe is this normal or should it be very fine mist kinda bubbles ?ImageUploadedByTapatalk1431165475.415127.jpg

Its probably like that then... the bubbles are indeed larger than the atomizer systems.

I found a video of someone else using it and the bubbles produced from his unit also looked similar size to yours too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mZia3OiFjI

If you want fine mist effect, then i guess you'll just have to go for the Up Aqua inline atomizer system.

On the other hand, if you don't want any bubbles or mist effect, then go for the ISTA 12/16 "turbo" Co2 reactor (non-ceramic) instead, that version uses spinning rotors to chop/mix up and fully dissolve the Co2 before it enters the tank.

Highly recommended the turbo ITSA. Just 1bps can easily see pearling effect everyday.

Yes the bubbles produced looks similar to mine thanks for the video at least now I know it's meant to be functioning that way.

The turbo ISTA seems interesting though
