Erm...any idea why only my us fissiden turned yellow? it was in the tank for quite long already.
My us fissiden is placed in the centre of tank.
Left side is my Taiwan moss. Right side is my flame moss.
my ph 7.1, nitrate/nitrite 0 and Ammo 0. My co2 diffuser is placed left corner of tank.
Co2 is 1 bps. Both moss doing well. Nice and green but
the U.S. fissiden yellowish.
My fertilizer is dont use. Scared algae. But I do feed my fish and cherry/Amano alot

Thats puzzling... maybe a photo of the tank might help.![]()
image.jpgThe flame moss was a lot bigger. I just did some massive trimming last night. Thought that it might be blocking growth of my US Fissiden. Thinking of removing the flame moss altogether but scare it upset the balance of my tank and bring on algae bloom. I dosed some plant fertilizer last night for first time in month.
I have no issue with us fissiden in the darkest corner of my tank.
what is your water changing frequency?
flow in that area?
by the way, are those ammonia stickers good and useful?
The lighter green/yellowish color could be the fissidens reaction to higher light intensity? Since your fissidens is positioned higher in the tank, its much closer to the LED lights. The middle of the tank is also where the light consolidates and projects the highest intensity too.
I do notice the fissidens i keep also tend to have slightly lighter color fronds in the areas closer to the lights, compared to the areas further away from the lights (though it might also just be the visual difference in brightness at both areas too).
The other mosses like taiwan and flame moss probably don't encounter as much change in their frond colors, it might just be their characteristics, or could also be because they are positioned on the sides where the overall light intensity is probably slightly less.
Would my us fissiden die from prolong high intensity light? I have us fissiden on wire mesh at bottom doing well. my US fissiden is the centre piece of my tank. is there any way to solve this problem without moving it? I got frog bits and they are covering the top. My led light 3Wx16 Evo plant

Its possible... you can check out this thread by lionelckg on his experience accidently leaving the tank lights on 24 hours for a few days in a row, and the resulting "burnt" fissidens:
http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...-burnt-out-How
If i remember correctly he was only using the Up Aqua Z-Series LED lights, which have way less individual LED watt power than your Evo LED lights... so i guess your light intensity is probably much higher too.
Take note of the last post in that thread by jamesneo (he is the master of mini fissidens), seem he also encounter similar effects with his fissidens which are closer to the lights too.
My light I on for 6 hours a day.
I guess you could interchange photoperiod for light intensity... rather than less light on longer photoperiod, higher light intensity on shorter photoperiod may generate the same effects too.
Based on the experiences by others, it does seem that fissidens do show different coloration depending on light photoperiod or light intensity (or both).
