I have a question regarding sucker fish which I saw at my LFS recently and tried to research on it but to no avail. It was told to me by the LFS that it was called 'moonlight' which is barely 3cm long and would only grow slightly. Do any professional or veteran here knows is that true and can I have them in a bigger tank together with smaller fishes?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Haven't heard of "moonlight" pleco... but "starlight" bristlenose plecos (L183) are quite popular when they are available at most LFS, they are very small juvenile size when on sale, usually around 3cm too, but will eventually grow up to 15-20cm in size.

Maybe that is the pleco you saw? Can try doing an online Google search to see if the description matches.

You're right, guess I got the name wrong. Are they hard to keep due to it size?

Not too difficult to keep, their care requirements are similar to most common plecos.

Just have to factor in their eventual adult size and increased bio-load. So while they can live in small tanks when still juvenile size, eventually as they grow they will need larger tanks to live in.

You are correct. They are plecostomus , better known as pleco in the fish community

You might be looking at the Ancistrus Sp. Do they have blue hum at the tip of their dorsal and caudal fin? The albino version is available too.
