I recently rescaped and converted my 3 feet planted to house 4 mid-size discus.

Any veterans willing to chip in your advice on how to keep my setup running with minimal hiccups?

I'll post specs and tank parameters if and when required.

    Thanks in advance.

Looks like a nice setup... the only improvement i can think of is just reducing the height of the sand at the left and right front side of the tank, just a very think layer of sand will do there (ie 2-3 mm height), that'll reduce those black anaerobic pockets forming and becoming visible when the tank is viewed from the front.

keep a bare area for feeding and avoid aggressive feeders as tank mates.

Can someone recommend me fast-growing stem plants which have broad leaves?

Also, should I reduce the bio load? Currently housing the following fauna:

    20x Cardinal tetras
    06x Endlers
    06x Boraras Merah

Nice discus. I think I will get some discus next time when my $1 guoramis are phased out.
Right now they are still happy.

The Discus should be able to help you clear the some of the smaller life stock when they settle down.

Looks like this is coming true, I saw one discus trying to nip a B.merah but failed. These small fishes are left over ones from my previous decommed nano tank, which is now with my mum.

the best thing u can do for discuses is do lots of water change. at LEAST 50% a week.

what filter are you using anyway?

I try to do more than weekly water change but it can be difficult with a busy work schedule.

I'm over filtering with two canister filters: Eheim 2217 & Ecco Pro 300.
