Do angel fish really eat snails? (small ramshorn)

I have a snail infestation in my tank. Initially they were only a few and I ignored them. Then they start reproducing to the point that their eggs are all over the glass. I don't want to use any chemical to remove them so I decided to put a fish that might eat them. I put one dwarf puffer fish and a cheap koi colored tiny angel fish. The angel fish immediately started nipping into some invisible stuff on the soil but the puffer fish just swim around randomly. So I leave them in the tank for days without feeding them and after a week, I noticed the sudden disappearance of snails in the tank. There's still a few tiny egg spots on the glass but it's much less now and most of them are deep under the soil. I also don't see any snails swimming around the tank anymore so either or both the angel fish and puffer are taking care of them. I never personally seen any of them eat one but I can see both their tummy getting bloated even without feeding them. So my question is, the angel fish does eat snails as well? Anyone had experience like this?

Most of the snail clearing work would be attributed to the dwarf puffer... they are very effective against ramshorn snails.

Angel fish do snack on baby snails and snail eggs too, but it's not their staple diet (many opportunistic and omnivorous fishes do that, i've even seen my tetras pick and eat tiny baby snails straight off the tank glass).

oh ok cool then. well as of this time all i see now are empty snail shells. i also realized there were lots of freshwater limpets in my tank as well. but most of them are now at the soil because I think the puffer made a snack of them. the tiny puffer has very big belly everynight yet it has never bothered the tetras. I guess the snails and limpets are more than enough for him.

Dwarf putter is also aggressive. I saw it nip on my angel fish. No choice have to separate it out.

Yeah I lost a few tetra before due to nipped fin infections because of the puffer. but in this tank, the only other fish are ember tetras and SAE's. they swim so fast the puffer cannot bite any of them.
