Suggestion to improve.

Hi guys, i need suggestions to improve my current scape. Nana petite will be shifted to my other tank. Those willow ferns will be removed soon as they all withering away due to dosing of furanplus. What plants are suitable for current setup? Thanks in advance.

Are you setting up a blackwater biotope for your apistogramma?

If so, some ketapang leaves would look great as leaf litter on the base.

In the natural habitat for blackwater, there are not many plants due to the lack of light though.

Tried ketapang leave litter before haha. Very messy after awhile. Was thinking of putting some low tech plants inside but dont know which is better.

Any submerged plants you put in a black water tank will not do well simply because the heavily tannin stained water blocks most of the light getting to the plants.

Even with the lights on, it still looks like perpetual evening time in the tank.

Thats why in the wild, black water environments are usually completely devoid of underwater vegetation.

For more effective nutrient uptake, you can use floating plants instead... like frogbits, salvinia natans/minima, dwarf water lettuce etc. They get access to direct light from above the water surface, so are not affected by the black water conditions.

After 50% wc, tannin was reduced greatly. So i hand itchy go grab 2 java fern. Now that water is clearer, what plants do you guys suggest?

The usual hardy plants like java ferns, anubias and moss would be suitable... basically any plants which can survive in low light environments.
