i'd go for nothing less than a 4ft tank with at least 10mm glass
they give the glass such hard hits i won't feel comfortable with thinner glass

3-4ft both can only keep 1 adult fish.

so i think the best size for a solitary fish is a 3x2 tank.
This is the minimum for it to grow to max size....
4x2 is more comfortable for the fish if you can afford the space.

anything smaller than 3x2 will be at too much compromise on the fish's part.
