I saw this, and then I thought 'Eh, so familiar', then double checked FB messenger. Haha, Bro, Zir here.

Your ammonia still 6! Nevermind, if you want to borrow my Styrofoam box as your chilled water reservoir, I can temporarily help to house your blue bolt and BKK for you

    Re: New shrimp tank

    Hi Bro UA,

As usual, thanks for the super fast reply! The water volume is the same (as it flows through the SS pipe and back to tank), what i suspect is that the piping too long. Will be getting insulator (something like air-con pipe insulator) tomorrow from Bioplast uncle.

Should i dose Ototto PSB Bacteria like what i did to my 2ft tank? Can i add it with livestock inside? (Prefer not to disturb them if i can since they are able to breed)

    20150610_053742.jpg my current 50cm tank
20150610_054613.jpg my 2ft shrimp tank set up 2 days ago and haven't did any water change (ph 6, ammonia 0.25, nitrate/nitrite 0)

Worst come to worst, i will add an external water pump (EHEIM universal 1200, 1200lph) inbetween chiller and pump and will turn off my eco pro 300 if i add the pump.

Well, in the case of your setup using stainless steel coils to chill and remove heat in a 2nd tank, its not so much the volume of water that actually goes through the chiller, but the total water volume it has to come in contact with to chill (via the stainless steel pipe in contact with water in the 2ft tank)... as long as there are more surface areas to chill, the overall cooling load on the chiller will naturally be higher.

Bacteria solutions should be okay to dose with livestock in the tank... though with such high ammonia levels, its a better idea not to have shrimps in the tank anyways until its fully cycled, as they'll just keep adding to the ammonia production.
