    Hi all,

A bunch of little bugs have recently invaded my 2ft cycling tank. What are they? I have never seen these critters before. They look fascinating and I am wondering if adding in fish to eat them up would solve the issue.

What are they and what do they feed on?

Attached a photo of 3 of these bugs below

Maybe you can try putting in a little puffer fish, see if it will eat those bugs.

You can buy a little puffer from Bishan Aquarium at Blk 279 Bishan St 22.
(second last shop, near the NTUC and coffee shop, next to the carpark road).
They got many other fish too.

That is true. Puffers look small, cute and harmless, but they are actually very deadly creatures. My big Guorami got bitten by them until no fins are left. Very sad and heartbreaking.

If adding puffers, make sure to remove other fish or shrimps in the tank.

Puffer fish indeed a destroyer ! Yes, it will hunt and kill all the fishes and shrimp. Use Gush catchpen or worst to worst, restart the whole tank.
    Avoid over feeding.

At first I thought dwarf puffer fish is a gentle fish because they look so cute and harmless, lol.

Last time I caught a big puffer fish when I was fishing at Clifford Pier many years ago.
After I caught it, it blew itself up into a balloon like a football size. I was shocked,
thinking that I caught a monster, as I didn't know it can do that.

Hahaha, last time I used a line hook with prawns and caught that puffer fish at Clifford Pier. It was a normal puffer, not dwarf.

Ya, the little dwarf puffer fish eyes are are so cute and adorable, they look like so poor thing.
