    Hi all,
This is photo taken this morning, on the 4th day of newly set up as the water starts to clear up:

    Tank- 4ft X 13in X 14in height normal glass braceless 10mm - Coral Reef Aquarium
    Soil -ADA Amazonia- 2 X 9l bag-Natural Aquarium
    Filter-Eheim Ecco Pro 2034-Natural Aquarium
CO2-2l with solenoid at approx 1 bpm-Natural Aquarium
    CO2 Reactor-Max Mix--Natural Aquarium
    Lighting- 2 X 7020 white led strip-Sim Lim Square
Plants-Hair Grass & MM(Indian worker just tell me it's call MM when I asked what plant they have to match hair grass) -Pasir Ris Fish Farm

Total Cost of above about $700.

(Rock are left over from previous cichlid tank, and lucky also able to maintain 25 degree without chiller/fan , coz in it set up in the office )

Just sharing my experience and also most importantly to give credits to the authors of following websites for their generous sharing of knowledge :

    http://aquatic-art.blogspot.sg/
    http://theplantedtankblog.blogspot.sg/2013/01/
    http://www.urbanaquaria.com/

Robertus and Stanley Wong also kindly responded to private enquiries.

One other thing I realized at the end was that there are air bubbles trap under the soil as I had filled the tank slowly to avoid disturbing the slope. This cause problem in planting the hair grass as the bubble releases during planting cause them to be up-rooted easily.
So if I could do it once more, I may stir the soil with some water to reduce air being trap before embarking on the planting.

    Simple and nice.
On the other hand, simplicity is the hardest thing to achieve.

Please provide more updates as the tank progress. I am keened to see the growth and the fauna that you will be introducing.

Your office colleagues are the lucky ones to benefit such beauty.

The rock placement is awesome...so near yet so far and they will never meet..

So whom will be the lucky fishes?

Hm ..I notice you are using a 2034, the flow rate would just be probably enough.
But yours Is a iwagumi setup not a lot of dead corners as seen.

    Please refer to http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...r-planted-tank.
But its effectiveness on the plants growth has not been proven yet, as this is only a few days old, though the plants are bubbling like crazy (probably because it is only a 13in depth tank)

Haha, the way you say it like very zen.

Seriously I'm the lucky man, I've got 30 pcs of beautiful wild caught cardinal from Andy (Nick name:Cool) this morning.
The advance party of the algae team comprising 2 Otto and 2 Siamese flying fox has also been deployed, courtesy of Andy.

Coz I know I will be keeping very small fishes, but a bit regret, should have just for the higher size Ecco.

(sorry the iphone photo attached did not do justice at all to the brilliant color of the cardinal)

Excellent choice I feel. They go really well with the scape. Get a DSLR bro, your scape deserves a HD photoshoot!

Nice setup, but I do notice that your LED light is kinda close to the water surface, your water temperature won't get affect?

By the way you only spent $700 for a 4ft setup? That's a great bargain! Just curious how much was the tank itself?

    Tiny bubble , can see?
Gaseous exchange is part of photosynthesis process for plants

The plants have luxury of being in air con room of 25 degree, so not a problem.

Tank is 220 include oyama and black foam base. Cabinet is existing.

Start seeing root growth after 10 days

But some are suspended , should I leave them alone to find their way or cut the runner to plant them in?

Just cut or push those suspended runners back into the substrate, so that they can continue growing while rooted in... otherwise they will continue growing in suspended layers over hardscape (unless thats your objective).
