I agree, that wood structure is amazing, its like a piece of art... excellent choice in hardscape selection.

PS: If you ever consider selling the wood, PM me.

This probably will be the last update for this tank. The only dis-appointment was the light units are crap. Couldn't grow red plants ) of course scape wise nothing to boast about. I still have a lot to learn.

I also just learnt that I can order enough materials for the DIY substrate on Hydroponic website. Though a bit late.

    Time for another scape?

I used 2 x up Aqua Z lights. They look good and give good growth to most plants. Enough to get down to my Staurogynes.

For 3ft tanks growing higher light requirement plants... you'd usually need lights with higher wattage LEDs to get sufficient light to those red plants.

The Z-Series is okay for up to 36cm height tanks, but i find that above that, you have to use other types of higher powered lights to grow the higher demand plants, preferably those that use individual 3W LEDs like the Odyssea EVO 72W units. Maybe can consider upgrading the lights when you re-scape the tank.

I have been thinking about those midsize LED as well then decided to upgrade to something more appealing either to my eyes or to my plants
Kessil is definitely next, their review has knocked Maxspect straight out of the water
Else it will be something like Buildmyled equivalent.

I also found the 2217 cannot maintain this tank so had to switch back to 2260. May be it was the substrate but water has always been cloudy.

Yes, agree with UA, Have to be kiasu a bit to get a higher watt for high demand light. Currently, i am using LED 54 Watt of 60cm light. I can see my HC pearling every day. Really no regret to upgrade higher watt of light.

Can share this info if possible?
