I would like it know if Biohome Plus and Marine Pure 1.5" Ceramic Bio Media are suitable for fresh water planted tank.
Will the red color of Biohome Plus makes the tank water red?
Can they be put together in a canister filter? Any order of stacking them?
Does it works well with ADA Amazonia Soil?
Anyone used it before?
TIA

There have been some user reports posted online mentioning certain variants of the Biohome bio-media increasing pH... its not a confirmed thing though, so i guess you just have to test and see if it generates any significant effects on your tank's water parameters.

Jasonna, you really compact your media basket. Are you using it for a planted tank?

I agree with Stream, are you running the compacted canister in series with a pre filter as cleaning that compact canister is a nightmare, it make sense if you're running it in series. I'm running the biohomme plus in my sump for my marine tank that I do not need live rock anymore. Im dreading removing the biohomme as I'm changing tank.
Another media to look into is Sera Siporax, there are 3 version, the mini, the original and the pond version. Reefer in Brasil has found that using the pond version in the sump for their reef tank keeps the nitrate low, some reefer in the US are starting to use it too! A few reefer found some planktonic living thing growing in amongst the hollow part of the media, which help feed, although not much, their livestock in the main tank. But you need a sizeable space in the sump and they use the 50 litre box of the pond version, which cost a hefty price.
