What I will do is: check and crank up the CO2 if necessary. Add more plants, preferably fast growing ones. I believe something else is in excess, so algae is growing. Rule of thumb:
Check CO2 first, then
Macro
Micro
Lastly, 50% water change weekly. Adjust fertilizer dosage accordingly.
It is nothing new, as algae always hit the non living thing first in a tank. Look at the tank at Nature Aquarium, the pipings from the filtration system has got BBA covered...
As long as it does not spread and get a foothold, then it is fine. And keep disturbing them!!
