Hello,

Hoping to increase the survival of small fathead minnows mixed with 3 voracious native redside shiners and equally grabby white clouds in a 15 gal. unheated tank I planted real vegetation for the first time, finding a highly recommended liverwort type Monosolenium tenerum, said to be very successful by the shop owner. I have a 125 gph hang on filter and air stone as well, doing a weekly 5 gal. water change plus substrate cleansing. I caged it in a small aluminum trap as it is very unruly and sought to replicate the shrub like examples of this I see on line.
This picture was 2 months ago after it finally poked through the mesh after planting it in April. Not the success I was said I'd achieve. It is not dead at all but sort of just lives. I use an 18" T8 full spectrum flo light used at this time 14 hours during thew day, plus a small bit of natural light. Java moss was not to be found at the time, now I wonder about that. Any suggestions to help with it's growing potential? Help would be much appreciated.
