    Dear shrimp keepers,

Anyone can suggest a best way to acclimate shrimps beside drip acclimation technique? Let say want to adapt the shrimps in your tank PH(5.5) which the seller tank PH is at 6.5. Difference PH1.0 is a huge difference which can really impact the new shrimps.

Yeah... 1 degree change in ph = 10 times change, for this case is 10x more acidic. Even you acclimate them in a day, those weaker one might not survive. If you really like your shrimp a lot, you need to take at least 3 days to acclimate them. You need to setup a decent quarantine tank else they going to die due to ammonia and nitrite.
If no decent quarantine tank then no choice but to take the risk to see if they able to adapt the 1 degree change in a day. IMO, ammonia and nitrite are more lethal than 1 degree change.

Thanks for your sharing. So the safest way is acclimating them slowly through a few days period. I hate it when seller tank PH is 6.5 while my new setup with ADA soil is PH5.5.

^_^ No problem~ Ph 5.5 is near the extreme end for most shrimps or fishes. I think it might be due to not cost effective for LFS ba.
