A colleague of mine used it before in his office tank... its basically a DIY Co2 system using chemical mix to produce the Co2 gas, just that all the items are packaged nicely and you just follow the instructions to mix and use. It can run on normal Co2 diffusers, but not those atomizers that require higher working pressures to operate.
It is still subject to the limitations of a DIY Co2 system though, as the mixture is used up, the CO2 output starts to gradually decrease (which is a sign to refill the mix), so there will be some inconsistent levels of Co2 during that period of time.
Only thing was we noticed a higher tendency for fungus growth in the tank when it was used (the area around the Co2 diffuser had a persistent layer of fungus/mold), maybe due to residual traces of the chemical mix (maybe a food source for the fungus?) diffusing into the tank. Otherwise it worked fine.
