Yeah, you have to use those jelly or gel type superglue... they stay in a blob shape and don't run like normal superglue. You only need to use a very tiny dot of superglue on the object to attach the plants (especially for moss, since their fronds are so thin and small), if too much superglue is used you'll end up seeing alot of the cured white residue, so you need to really control the amount of superglue used.
You can refer to my guide on it: http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...r-Glue-Pebbles
As for your current situation with the java moss already super-glued on the wood, you could either remove the moss and scrub away the glue residue, the re-do again... or just leave it alone and let the surviving java moss grow out, hopefully they eventually cover the wood (and also cover the glue reside too).
Where can I get these gel type superglue? I guess I need to do it as per your advice as in use it in dots instead of spreading it all over the wood.

You can check at Daiso the hardware section, usually they will have a display rack full of different types. Just pick the ones which are labelled as "jelly" or "gel" types.
When gluing moss, just put a tiny dot of superglue on a location and then place the rhizoid part of the moss (its usually the stem-like part at the base of each moss branch with no fronds) on the object. The key is to just use the superglue to temporarily hold small parts of the moss to the object until it roots in, try not to let the rest of the moss get in contact with the superglue itself.
Thank you Felix and UA. I will give it a shot again.

You can also use this Ista glue which is quite commonly found in most LFS, at least have seen at Seaview, AA, OTF and some others I can't recall. Slightly less than $2
Thank you HBK!
