Suddenly Fishing Interest Arise !
Are the fish colour natural? I am keen to get some too for my new tank.
PS. * Try a black backgound for your tank. May make it more attractive.
LIFE IS UNBEARABLE WITHOUT A FISH TANK!!!
I think should be “Malawi story”, sound a little poetic…
Yes, they are natural. Cichlids are quite colorful fishes, next to betta, in the freshwater world. Even than, a specific color will also take many forms from light to dark tone. There are plenty of room for mix-n-match. Having a huge tank will be advantages for you to bring in more because these fishes are not expensive.
I thought white background will bring out the richness of individual cichlids. Which is also why I bring in only white rocks. However, no harm trying black background to see whether their color can be ampliefied.

Leave your white rocks and white sand alone, do not change them. They are excellent as they are.
But I was only suggesting you try a black background, not white. I think adding a black background would give a spectacular effect to your tank.
Get a piece of 20111031013339.jpg from Popular Bookstore to try.

Actual blue bg maybe be better, malawi is good but duboisi is tanganyika

The white background was from the same board I bought at Popular. Will try the black one when I pass by Popular bookstore again.
As for the blue bg, I used it for my previous biotope scape. There were just too many colors to choose from. In fact, I used the light pink background for my goldfish and it stood out quite beautifully.
Well....I still have a 2ft spare tank. May try baby frontosa if I have the time but it won't be rocky scape. May try a little greeneries with different nanas on rock and let the babies frontosa swim around them...hmmm
Here is another guess. Can you guy spot the white cichlid? He is there in full view!!! The tank is too white it concealed that fellow.

The white one should be pseudotropheus sp. albino

Hi bluebubbles..
Where did you get your hardscape from? Referring to the pictures from your very first post on 25th July.
I love the way you stack them up as such. Might just be the perfect option for my Tanganyika setup.
