cories and pleco in carpet planted tank

Gg to upgrade my tank. Can i do a carpet monte carlo and transfer 6 of my cories and 1 L183 over??? Been researchin n getting mixed results. Anybody can advise?

The L183 will have no issues, they will graze on the hardscape, tank glass and monte carlo.... as for the cories, it depends on their size, the smaller dwarf cories like pygmaeus, habrosus or hastatus usually have no issues too as they are small enough to not cause that much uprooting. But the larger cories may uproot some of the carpet plants as they scavenge around the substrate, so just have to take that into consideration.

Shifu UA is right.
I had kept 10 Cory Sterbais before. I found out that although they have adorable big round eyes, they are practically blind, at least during day time.
They like to dig around blindly for worms under the soil. They cannot see worms which are right in front of them but they will charge at them when they are able to smell it.
For this reason, they must never be mixed with other fish, especially greedy fish.

I have 1 leopard 1 sterbai 2 panda and 2 cory aldofoi... i cannot bear to give them up. My leopard almost 1 year already... so really not advisable eh? Even if i only transfer them in after 2 mths or smth.. or can i carpet with other plants.. or create a sandy area for them

I guess its up to your choice whether the chances of carpet plants being uprooted is worth keeping those cories. Just have to try and see. If you don't mind some plants being uprooted, then its okay to keep those fishes in the same tank.

Creating a sandy area is a good idea, you can create a sand bank in the front of the tank and place the food there, so that the cories can forage safely around that area without disturbing too many of your other carpet plants.
