Has anyone overdosed the above product? I did it once(I think so) and got one dead platy and remining 2 gasping for air, luckily I found that in time and saved the fishes. My hornwort which was surposedly hardy was also a goner .

My tank is a small one, only 8l.

Excel is Carbon supplement claimed by Seachem that it can enhance plant growth further. I am using it too. 1ml per day for my 2ft tank and no problem. BUT do not overdose which stated in the bottle and that explain your situation.

BTW, anyone to intro a place to get SEACHEM FLOURISH? It is rated "BEST BUY" by practical FISHKEEPING magazine.

wks, maybe what happened is bacteria started to chew on the excess excel and thus consuming oxygen in the water
if you're using pressurised co2, i feel that there's no point in using excel anymore

flourish can be found at petmart, serangoon north ave 2, tel no. 62896471

I think maybe more than just O2 shortage. I remember reading the label which read something like "if contact with eyes or swallowed seek medical attention.." if I am not wrong. Sounds poisonous...[]

Anyway, I am still using it. Used to dose at 1ml per day for my 2-footer, but killed all my shrimps. Now already cut down to 0.5ml per day.
