Is your tank cycled?
I added 3 females AFR guppies into my 1 month old++ tank(with 3 male guppies, 2x cory & nerite snails) on last Thursday. There's 1 F guppy isn't eating well since day 1 of introduction and I realized a damaged pectoral fin. NH3 & NH4 @ 0 for the past few morning. There's slight NO2 on day 2 morning but fishes are fine except 1 F AFR still not eating well. I also noticed 2 F AFR(including the not eating well) having white poop.
It's until Sunday morning things get worst, the not eating well F AFR having seriously clamped fins and tail, while the other 2 F AFR having slight clamped tail. So I tested the parameter and found there's a NO2 spike, 0.5ppm, and 0 NH3/4. Probably an NH3 spike overnight which I suspect due the last week introduction of new fishes, plants and some aragonite chips to increase the GH while PH reach 7.8 from 7.3.
I did a 15% WC and dose prime. Also a 30min MB bath for the seriously clamped F AFR. Did another MB & salt bath on the evening as things not getting well.Didn't manage to save it, it died @ midnight.
The tank wasn't improving on the evening, NO2 still near 0.5ppm. The F AFRs still having slight clamped tail though they were still eating and swimming around. I decided to try the API quick start, which I bought weeks back as an emergency treatment + testing the efficiency of this product.
I did another round of WC, 25-30% this time. Also cleaned the sponge filter with aquarium water. Added fresh water with Stress Coat & Quick Start, I am surprised all my fishes are revitalized immediately especially the 2 F AFRs. Also, all the fins & tail opened just like betta about to fight. It's different from the previous WC or past WC with stress coat. After 2 hours, I did a NO2 test again, not much change in NO2. Still near 0.5ppm
XD This morning I saw my 2 F AFRs are still active and 1st time seeing 1 of them chasing the M guppies away which usually is the M keep clinging and chasing the F. Now the F look more dominant. F & M chasing each other round. I also did a NO2 test. There's still some NO2 but less than 0.25ppm.
Can't conclude much as this my 1st time using.Would like to listen to more opinions on this.
=D Thinking of getting Seachem stability next.
Is your tank cycled?

Can show your tank's picture?![]()
LIFE IS UNBEARABLE WITHOUT A FISH TANK!!!
XD Should be cycled but I doubt it is stabilized. It used to have a UGF container with Aquasoil + aragonite substrate but removed it on the 2nd week which caused some NH4 spike. Then left with sand and 2 small potted plant and sponge filter. On the end of week 4 added 3 M guppies, cory, snails. On the next morning slight NO3 spike but fine after that. Week 5 added some floating plants, aragonite chips(some in sponge filter tube) and introduced 3 F guppies. I think it's week 5 that I disturb the balance of the tank @_@.
XD No pic to show for the moment. @_@ My tank really over crowded... It's a 8-9L tank. =X
Yeah, small volume tanks below 10 liters do tend to be unstable, just abit of extra bio-load or some shifting of substrate/plants can easily throw the cycle off-balance. Parameters spike up and down very quickly (often faster than you can measure). Have to either only stock with very low-bio-load livestock or do frequent water changes/tank maintenance to maintain clean water conditions.

Yeah.. @_@ I doing 10-15% WC every 3 day unless there's a spike. No sure if the amount of WC too much or less. Thinking of getting another tank.
I am using Hailea 6604, 2x 4.5l/min or 270l/hr.
@___@ My guppies isn't doing well compare to ytd after WC with QS&SC but better than ytd morning. Still having slightly clamped tail. The F guppies seem to be more sensitive than the M.
Just tested the water parameter. NH3 @ 0. NO2 still between 0-0.25.
Overcrowded tank.

The way I see it, the water is rather cloudy. But I like your aerator/oxygenator. Where did you buy that from?
I think there's insufficient bio-filtering in that tank other than the sponge, otherwise, the water should be crystal-clear even without any mechanical filtering, especially when all the the dirt has settled down at the bottom overnight.
LIFE IS UNBEARABLE WITHOUT A FISH TANK!!!
The female seem like going to give birth. Is it Albino Guppy? If yes, they are very sensitive toward water parameter. I have a few AFR, almost cant survive for 3 month and above. They need very clean water. Best is to have a cycled tank and nitrates 0. Dont mix the female with the male for too long. Usually they will stress and die off soon. Isolate the female.
Yeah... my water have lots of particles circulating with the water. =( Mostly seem like organic matters. Probably from my plants. Currently I reducing those particle through WC. ^_^ Will try adding more bio media.
XD Actually my plan was to try breeding guppy in green water. I keep adding some green water into the tank between week 2-4. But.. it don't last long. Longest is 5 days only. Not sure why so I gave up. @__@
I got the pump from seaview. A good buy. XD Noise level also quite low.
Yup.. Only the females are Albino.3 month lifespan only.. really short. Didnt know they are so fragile. @_@ Hope my nitrite drop to zero soon. XD Yeah.. this tank too small and no privacy. Temporary housing them here. Ok will transfer the female into other tank.
Mind sharing your guppy tank water parameter?
My Female guppy giving birth today. Seem like it isn't being affected by the slight NH3&NO2 spike
3 days ago, I noticed the eyes of the fry in the gravid spot of my pregnant guppy.
Saw my pregnant guppy with protruded anus yesterday and decided to separate her. Prepared a container with 70% aquarium water and 30% fresh water. Dosed some aq salt for the 30% of the fresh water as my aquarium water has salt in it. Also some prime to dechlorinate. (XD I was in the dilemma of using prime or stress coat.)
Today, I noticed some fry and my guppy still giving birth. XD But she's camera shy so unable to take a video of her giving birth. I waited a while quietly and manage to see 1 of the fry pop out.
After that I stopped disturbing her. Hopefully able to see more fry later.
