Does it indicates problem with water quality if seed shrimp keeps increasing?

No. Seed shrimp is you over feeding. I suppose it is pure shrimp tank? If my planted tank, I also see seed shrimp. But I got my chocolate gourami to check them population down hehe. They love it. Once you have seed shrimp, almost like impossible to get rid of them completely. Control your feeding, buy gush catch pen, trap them. If not restart the whole tank. By the way, seed shrimp will not causes any water issue. Just eye sore only.

It's a shrimp tank and I only feed once every 2 days and very small quantity. I don't think its over feeding , maybe due to rotten moss?

    Re: seed shrimp

No, its not due to over feeding. Seed Shrimp and other tiny critters exist in tanks with stable and pristine waters-so be glad they're there. Seed shrimps are also known as ostracods and multiply rapidly as there are no predeators in your shrimp tank. 100% harmless, these Ostracods eat leftover food, rotting plant bits and algae(they're scavengers). Leave them there as they are helpful critters and if you don't ming watching them crawl around your tank.

I used to have a large population in my tank till I introduced fish. Trapping, catching or attempting to poison or restarting your tank due to this unecessary and foolish, seeing as these critters are benefical in the ecosystem.

Strange thing is I bought 10 shrimps and 7 died within 2 weeks. This would not be happening if my water conditions is good?

    Re: seed shrimp

Seed shrimps (aka ostracods) are way way more hardy than dwarf shrimps... they can tolerate a much wider variety of parameters, hence they are usually the last survivers in a tank environment (their fossil records stretch back 500+ million years, super hardy evolved critters).

For dwarf shrimps, there are other factors which affect their health other than just clean water, they also need sufficient minerals and trace elements to build and maintain their shells, and are also susceptible to stress or illness during transport and introduction that may cause them to die days or weeks after being in a tank.
